LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Val Kilmer, the iconic actor known for his roles in ‘Top Gun‘ and ‘Batman Forever,’ has died at the age of 65.
His daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, confirmed that he died on April 1, 2025, due to complications from pneumonia.

Val Kilmer’s death comes after overcoming cancer
Though Kilmer had been publicly battling throat cancer since 2014, it was not the disease that led to his death.
After undergoing intensive treatment, he had made considerable progress in his recovery over the years.
Kilmer’s final appearance was in ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ (2023), where he reprised his famous role as “Iceman” in a touching scene alongside Tom Cruise.

In his final Instagram post, made on March 23, 2025, Kilmer shared a painting of a bonfire glowing in blue, pink, and red hues.
