MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA: Shahid Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most popular actors, has always maintained a balanced approach to both his career and personal life.
Recently, the actor sat down for a candid conversation where he shared some personal insights about his family life, parenting, and the possibility of his children, Misha, 7 and Zain, 5, entering the film industry.

Shahid Kapoor says he’d prefer Misha and Zain choose simpler careers
Shahid also reflected the unpredictable nature of showbiz. Deva actor remarked, “Ideally, I wouldn’t want them to do my job, picture mein mat aana yaar. Kuch aur karo, bahut up and down hota hai yaar, bohot rough hai.”
Misha and Zain are frequently spotted in paparazzi photos, sparking a curious question whether the kids will follow their father’s footstep?
Shahid further explained that while he understands the allure of the industry, he believes there are many other professions that offer stability and simplicity.
“If they want to, it’s their choice, but I would be like choose something simple, this is too complex,” he added.
He also mentioned that he hopes to teach his kids to always do the right thing, even if it’s something he may not agree with or if it ends up “damaging” him.
The actor also opened up about his parenting style, acknowledging the contrast in approach between him and his wife Mira. Shahid described himself as the “soft” parent, while Mira, he admitted, is the “strict” one.

During an interview with Peeping Moon, Shahid’s wife, Mira shared an insight on parenting dynamics.
She also revealed that “Generally, I find myself in the role of the stricter parent. Whether it’s denying their requests, enforcing bedtime, supervising homework, or teaching them, I take on these responsibilities.”
She further added, “Meanwhile their father indulges them a bit, buying them trendy shoes to which I respond by saying they can’t have those shoes.
On which Shahid himself has acknowledged these dynamics, says that profound love for his children sometimes take him to over lenience.
He said – “Mera pyaar bahut zyada hai mere bachon ke liye isliye mai unhe daat nhi pata”
Shahid is gearing up for the release of Deva, an action-packed film featuring Pooja Hegde. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the much-anticipated movie, produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, is set to hit theaters on January 31, 2025.
