MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA: In a major development for the ‘Krrish‘ franchise, Hrithik Roshan is all set to step into the director’s chair for the highly anticipated ‘Krrish 4.’
His father, Rakesh Roshan, who has been at the helm of the previous installments, has officially passed the “baton of the director” to his son, marking a new chapter in the superhero saga.

Rakesh Roshan passes Krrish 4 director baton to Hrithik with pride
Rakesh, in a heartfelt Instagram post, expressed his pride and joy over this transition, writing, “Duggu 25 years back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers Aditya Chopra & myself to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4.”
He added, “Wish you all the success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings! ♥️.”
In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Rakesh Roshan elaborated on this monumental decision, stating, “I am passing the baton of the director of Krrish 4 to my son, Hrithik Roshan, who has lived, breathed and dreamt about this franchise since its inception with me.”
He added, “Hrithik has a clear and a very ambitious vision of taking Krrish’s journey forward with the audience for the next decades.”
Rakesh expressed his immense pride, saying, “I couldn’t be more prouder to see him wear the director’s hat for a film that means the world to us as a family. Krrish has entertained audiences the world over and Hrithik will now reveal the next chapters of this superhero saga and take the vision I created so many years ago to greater heights.”

Rakesh also expressed his happiness about Aditya Chopra’s involvement as a producer, stating, “It brings me so much joy to see someone like Adi as the producer of Krrish 4. It was he who convinced Hrithik to sit in the director’s chair. Adi and Yash Raj Films have the knowledge, understanding and technological might to produce this film and add great value to this project.”
He further emphasized the creative collaboration, adding, “Hrithik and Adi coming together as a producer-director pair with me behind them is a rare and deliciously creative combination.”
“I am sure they will turn Krrish 4 into a theatrical experience that has never been made in India. The dream is to make India proud globally with a larger-than-life experience like Krrish 4,” Rakesh continued.
The film is currently in pre-production, with ‘Krrish 4‘ set to begin shooting in early 2026. Rakesh Roshan has assured that the movie will be a grand-scale production featuring extensive YFX.
