
DELHI: Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India, passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 92.

Manmohan Singh was hospitalized in critical condition
Singh was admitted to the emergency department of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Thursday, December 26, around 8 pm.
The 91-year-old leader was reportedly in critical condition, though the exact cause of his hospitalization has not been disclosed yet.

When was Manmohan Singh born?
Born on September 26, 1932, in Gah (now in Pakistan), Singh rose from humble beginnings to become one of India’s most accomplished politicians.
He completed his education at prestigious institutions, including Cambridge University and the University of Oxford, before embarking on a career in economics.
Over the decades, he held various important positions, including Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission.

Singh, who served as India’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, retired from the Rajya Sabha earlier this year, concluding his 33-year-long political career in the Upper House.
