MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA: Bollywood star Ameesha Patel has responded to recent rumors about her being in a relationship with Pakistan‘s actor Imran Abbas.
The speculation started after she shared a video on Instagram of herself lip-syncing to the song “Dil Mein Dard Sa Jaga Hai” from the 2002 film Kranti.

Imran Abbas and Ameesha Patel in relationship?
Patel denied the rumors in an interview, saying, “I read them too and had a huge laugh about it. The whole thing is just crazy and full of silliness. I was meeting my buddy after so many years, so it was just a catch-up.”
Patel and Abbas had reunited at an event in Bahrain and decided to take an impromptu video.
She explained, “He happens to love that song of mine; it’s his favorite. We just did an impromptu thing, which was recorded by a friend. It came out so cute, so we posted it. It was not planned.”

The Gadar actress also revealed that Abbas has been her friend since their university days in the United States. “We have known each other for many years, since the time I studied with him at a university in the US.”
She went on to say, “I’ve stayed in touch with most of my friends in Pakistan, who just love India. Abbas belongs to the film industry there, and we have a lot more to talk about.”
Responding to speculations about her personal life, Ameesha said that she and Imran are both currently single and that the rumors are untrue.
“He is single, I am single, that’s where it ends,” she said, urging fans not to overanalyze the lighthearted video.
Abbas, known for his roles in Pakistani films and TV series, also has a loyal fan base in India, making their friendship particularly special for fans across the border.
Despite the rumors, Ameesha remains focused on her work and continues her long-standing friendship with Imran.
